Army man killed in Machil sector, infiltration bid foiled | KNO

Kupwara, July 27 (KNO) : An Army man was killed in retaliatory fire in Machil sector along Line of Control on Saturday afternoon while as the Army claimed to have filed an attempt of infiltration of group of militants. Army in its statement issued to KNO said that, “an infiltration bid was foiled by challenging the infiltrating militants along LoC. However, a soldier was killed in the retaliation of gunfire.” A group of militants who tried to sneak into this side of border their movement was challenged, triggering off an exchange of gunfire, Army said. A top cop when contacted said that some suspicious movement was observed along the fence which was challenged, they fired upon the guard santry post, resulting in injuries to the Army man who later succumbed to his injuries.(KNO)
